To mark International Women’s Day, Europe House is launching a campaign titled: “RIGHTS.JUSTICE.ACTION. For ALL Women and Girls”, calling for collective action to remove deeply rooted structural barriers that continue to restrict equal access to justice, opportunities and protection for women and girls worldwide.
This campaign aims to demonstrate that equality is not merely a principle. Equality becomes a living reality when rights are implemented, justice systems operate without prejudice, and women are empowered to lead across all sectors of society.
We are presenting inspiring women who have overcome every obstacle and become leaders in their respective fields through their knowledge, expertise, and perseverance.
Meet the women who inspire and affirm that anything is possible when we work hard.
“The desire to prove that a woman can succeed through her own work, without yielding to blackmail, became my cause. That awareness shaped me both professionally and personally. It strengthened me and greatly helped me in life,” with these words, Ivana Jelić summarises the essence of her professional and personal journey, which led her to one of the highest judicial institutions in Europe.

Prof. Dr Ivana Jelić is a judge and Vice-President of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, a professor of public international law and a member of the Senate of the Association of Lawyers of Montenegro.
The career of the Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, Anđela Jakšić-Stojanović, demonstrates that true leadership is built on knowledge, dedicated work and the readiness to assume responsibility when it is most challenging.

“The strength of leadership lies in integrity, knowledge, and a clear vision, while professional credibility – regardless of whether we are speaking about men or women – is built exclusively through professionalism, consistency and tangible results,” the Minister stated.
“Leadership is not popularity; it is responsibility,” said Marijana Bojanić, Chief Executive Officer at TV Vijesti and Daily Press and President of the Association of Women Leaders of Montenegro.

According to her, the most common obstacle women face when assuming leadership positions in business is not a lack of competence, but the perception of authority.
From pylons, balustrades and ornaments to the Ulcinj Saltworks, from Germany to Montenegro, Zenepa Lika is a woman who replaced architectural creations with activism and the fight to preserve the creations of nature. Lika is an architect, environmental activist and Executive Director of the Dr Martin Schneider Jacoby Association.

“In Montenegro, WOMEN from the NGO sector are among the strongest, the most persistent and the most active. That is our strength — one that cannot be ignored or silenced,” Lika emphasises.
These women are unique, inspiring and courageous. The campaign “RIGHTS.JUSTICE.ACTION. For ALL Women and Girls” celebrates their bravery, knowledge, expertise and perseverance, through which they have overcome every obstacle and become leaders in their respective fields.
