Samanta Bajrami inspires society through her example and demonstrates the importance of hard work and dedication. She is employed by the Capital City of Podgorica, where she communicates daily with citizens and contributes to the functioning of the institution. Once an active activist, today her work and personal example show that Roma Women and Men Are Capable, Ambitious, and Successful.
It is important to speak about successful examples from the Roma community, as this helps to break down the prejudices that still exist, Samanta emphasised.
“I believe it is important for our stories to be heard — to show that with hard work, effort, and strong will, success is not unattainable,” Bajrami stated.
Working within the institution of the Capital City of Podgorica represents both a great source of pride and responsibility for Samanta.
“As a Roma woman employed in the Capital City, I feel that through my work I am proving that we too can be part of the system and contribute to society. It means a great deal to me that I am the only employed member of my family, because I know my example can open doors for others,” she highlighted.
Education and perseverance are key, Bajrami asserts, as every effort ultimately pays off.
“I believe that young Roma women, when they see someone who has followed a similar path, will find it easier to believe in themselves,” Samanta concluded.
