The first workshop in the cycle dedicated to financial literacy was held in Europe House Podgorica.
During the workshop titled: “Real Estate First-Hand – An Agent’s Experience”, led by Vladimir Vlahović from the Concord Real Estate Agency, young attendees asked questions, sought clarification and actively took part in the discussion.
Most of the workshop focused on practical examples, as this is where the most valuable insights emerge. Vladimir spoke about the dilemmas and fears that almost everyone faces when considering buying or renting a flat for the first time. According to him, the fear of making the wrong decision is completely natural – and entirely solvable.
“Among young people entering the world of real estate for the first time, I most often see a fear of making the wrong decision and a lack of understanding of the buying process. The aim of this workshop was to explain all aspects of the property market to young people in a simple and transparent way — from documentation to the real value of a property,” he said.

Participants also had the opportunity to hear about the most common mistakes that can arise. However, as Vladimir pointed out, with the right approach and guidance, problems can be avoided before they even occur. He also explained that negotiation is not something to be afraid of, but a skill that develops through good preparation and an understanding of the market.
“Young people often think the process of buying or negotiating is complicated and intimidating. I believe it is crucial that they understand three things: the real value of a property, the importance of proper documentation, and what the negotiation process actually entails. Once this becomes clear to them, the entire purchase feels much safer and easier,” he said.
During the workshop, Vlahović shared real-life examples that helped participants better understand the process.
The workshop also included a discussion on current trends — rising prices in larger cities, the growing demand for new builds, and development locations that are becoming increasingly attractive to young people. Participants learned how to identify good opportunities, assess real value, and prepare for conversations with agents, sellers and banks.
Most importantly, attendees left the workshop with a sense of confidence and a clearer understanding of the steps ahead. They learned something they can apply as early as their first flat viewing — which is precisely the goal of these workshops.
In November, two more workshops await us, dedicated to lending and the legal aspects of real estate purchases.
