EUROPEAN FILM FESTIVAL ARRIVES IN MONTENEGRO!

European Film Festival Begins

Audiences across the country will have the opportunity, from 19 June to 18 August, to enjoy contemporary European cinema through the European Film Festival, which will bring films to all 25 municipalities of Montenegro.

The festival opens with this year’s Oscar winner for Best Documentary Feature – the exceptional film “Mr. Nobody Against Putin”. The official opening is scheduled for 19 June at 8:30 p.m. in Njegoš Park in Podgorica. This Czech-Danish co-production, directed by David Borenstein and Pavel Talankin, delivers a powerful and timely story that has already received international critical acclaim.

Throughout the summer, a selection of exceptional European films across various genres will be screened – from documentaries and feature films to animations for younger audiences.

Screenings will take place at open-air summer venues and cultural institutions across Montenegro – from Herceg Novi, Bar, and Kotor to Bijelo Polje, Pljevlja, Žabljak, Rožaje, and other towns.

Admission to all screenings is free of charge, and films will be shown in their original language with subtitles in Montenegrin and English.

The European Film Festival is organised by the Delegation of the European Union through the Europe House, with the support of the Cineuropa platform, and in partnership with the Film Centre of Montenegro and the Montenegro Cinema Exhibitors Network.

As the great Italian director Federico Fellini once said, “Film is a dream we dream with our eyes open.” This summer, the European Film Festival invites audiences across Montenegro to discover stories that inspire, connect, and open new perspectives on the world – through the universal language of European cinema.
