Panel discussion: “Embracing Diversity: Understanding and Supporting the LGBTQ+ Community”

Europe House, Podgorica, Montenegro

Event is organised by: Europe House and Young European Ambassadors (YEAs)

In honour of the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia (IDAHOBIT 2023), the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro and Europe House Podgorica are organising a panel discussion titled “Call for Inclusion and Solidarity” on May 17, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

The panel discussion will address the experiences of being an LGBTQ+ person in Montenegro, as well as the specific actions taken by the European Union concerning the rights of this community in Montenegro. The participants in the panel discussion will include:

  • Riccardo Serri, Deputy Ambassador of the European Union in Montenegro
  • Miloš Knežević, Queer Montenegro
  • Vojin Četković, LGBT activist

The panel will be moderated by Marija Blažević, a Young European Ambassador.

Many activists from Montenegro have been invited to the panel, and after the discussion, there will be a gathering with a screening of the movie “Dating Amber” (starting at 7:15 PM) and refreshments.

Through this event, the EU Delegation aims to foster closer cooperation with the LGBTQ+ community in light of the Pride Month in June, and to open the doors of Europe House for all activities of the LGBTQ+ community in Montenegro. In June, Europe House will also organise series of events as part of Pride Month.
