EuroJam Session with the KMK House Band Held in Bijelo Polje

An open music session “EuroJam”, which serves as a platform for dialogue, collaborative creativity and the sharing of European values through music, was held at Europe House.

The audience in Bijelo Polje had the opportunity to enjoy a performance by the KMK House Band. The organisation’s Assistant Director, Göknur Yıldız, said that the event provided a wonderful opportunity for people to come together in Bijelo Polje.

“Tonight, we are presenting the EuroJam format featuring European jazz standards. I hope the audience will enjoy it. Naturally, we will begin with our own songs, and afterwards, anyone in the audience who wishes to can join us and sing or play. As the KMK organisation, we aim to organise EuroJam sessions in every country where we operate and remain active, because we believe this is an important part of our work, as well as of art and culture. For precisely these reasons, Bijelo Polje is one of the towns we simply could not overlook,” Yıldız emphasised.

She noted that the House Band consists of K. Metehan Ayasbeyoğlu, Lazar Rakočević, Petar Gardašević and Demir Zengin.

Yıldız added that, through all of their activities, they strive to encourage musicians to join them and help create what she described as a vibrant and welcoming music scene.

The organisation’s Balkan Coordinator, Mert Buğra Çakmak, expressed his delight that KMK is now jamming in Bijelo Polje as well.

“I am originally from Türkiye, but I have been living in Podgorica for the past 16 years, where I completed primary school and grammar school, and I am now studying at the Faculty of Political Sciences. I love the arts, and more than a year ago, I became part of this organisation. Since then, I have been very active and have enjoyed every moment,” Mert added.
