Music speaks directly to the heart and often has a stronger impact than any words. A single voice can sometimes carry the entire history and identity.
Such is the voice of Aldin Avdijaj, a distinguished singer whose music can be heard at celebrations across Montenegro and beyond. Aldin blends different musical genres and entertains audiences through his performances.
However, success did not come easily.
The modern age is one of hyper-production. Aldin emphasises that it is extremely difficult to build a career as a singer and secure one’s place on the scene.
“It was not easy to carve out my place, especially at the beginning, when you have neither support nor proper opportunities. I had to work very hard, remain persistent, and believe in myself even when others did not. There were rejections and difficult moments, but every success afterwards carries even greater value,” said Aldin.
Avdijaj also demonstrated his talent on the popular music competition Zvezde Granda and has released several songs, including the more recent track “Minuta dva”.
He highlights the importance of Roma culture and music being heard and seen in the public sphere.
“Roma music carries immense emotion and heritage. When it is present in public, people have the opportunity to experience it in the right way. I believe that through music we can show how rich and valuable our culture truly is.”
The world around us has become far too noisy, yet a song can quiet even the loudest prejudices and reach the hardest hearts. That is why the world needs to pause and start listening.
