Discussions on Opportunities for Entrepreneurs
In celebration of the World Day of Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises, a special SME Soirée was held at Europe House. This networking event brought together young entrepreneurs and representatives of the EMBRACE project and the IPARD programme. The aim of the gathering was to present young entrepreneurs with the opportunities offered by these EU-funded initiatives.
The soirée was organised in cooperation with the Union of Young Entrepreneurs, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management. Young people had the opportunity to learn about various possibilities that could help strengthen their businesses.
Tanja Radusinović, Director of the Project Sector at the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, shared valuable and important insights about the EMBRACE (Enhancing MSEs sustainaBle gRowth And CompEtitiveness) project, stating it was a particular pleasure to present it to such an interested and engaged group of young people.
She highlighted that the project opens up opportunities for micro and small enterprises in Montenegro to develop innovative projects in collaboration with micro and small enterprise companies from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, thereby enhancing their competitiveness.
The EMBRACE project provides grants of up to €200,000.
“Companies from 12 Montenegrin municipalities are eligible to apply. These companies must fall under the micro or small enterprise category, have been operating for at least one year, demonstrate positive financial results, and, of course, comply with all tax and contribution obligations,” Radusinović added.
IPARD III programme was presented by Nina Jakić, Head of the Directorate for Public Relations of the IPARD Programme, and Miloš Kusovac, Head of the Directorate for Programming of the IPARD Programme.
“Montenegro implemented the IPARD II programme, spending €35 million out of the allocated €39 million across 748 projects. We are currently in the implementation phase of the IPARD III programme. Four public calls have already been announced and completed, and new calls are planned for the upcoming period. These plans were presented to the young individuals attending today’s event,” said Jakić.
Visitors to Europe House had the opportunity to receive detailed information about the conditions, procedures, and upcoming public calls within the IPARD III programme.
Every year on 27 June, the World Day of Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) is marked in recognition of their role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the significant contribution they make to economic development and the creation of sustainable employment opportunities.
