Technical Assistance for capacity support to the transport sector and EU acquis alignment in Montenegro

Transport is a cornerstone of European integration. For this reason, it is very important for candidate countries to develop safe, sustainable and connected transport policies and infrastructure.

This project aims to contribute to achieving progress in the Montenegro’s accession negotiations for EU membership in the area of transport, particularly by ensuring alignment of national legislation with the EU acquis and increasing the capacities for the implementation of projects. More precisely, the project addresses the needs and priorities of Montenegrin authorities with a view to improving administrative, institutional, technical, planning, programming, procurement, contract management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation capacities of the transport sector institutions. The goal is to enhance the current management and implementation of IPA funds and prepare the Montenegrin authorities for the future management of Structural Funds.

In short, this project will contribute to improving the performance of the transport sector and ensuring its alignment with policies relating to sustainable connectivity.

Implemented by the NGO Monitor Center for Media and Democracy, with an aim to help reducing the level of peer violence against Roma youth. In order to raise awareness of peer violence against members of the Roma community, this sub-grant included production of several research articles. In the research process were also involved journalists from the Roma portal “Romalitika”.
