We are pleased to invite you to the ceremonial awarding of grants aimed at supporting employment and the economic empowerment of the Roma and Egyptian communities, implemented by REDI – Roma Entrepreneurship Development Initiative, with the support of the European Union.
The signing of contracts with the first recipients of these financial grants will take place on Monday, 27 April, at Europe House in Podgorica, starting at 1:00 PM.
As part of the first public call, grants have been awarded to registered legal entities owned by members of the Roma or Egyptian communities, as well as to legal entities that have employed a person from these communities for at least 6 months. Grant recipients will receive up to €5,000 to cover gross salary and accounting costs for the first 5 months of employment, with the 6th month funded by the employer.
The following speakers will address the audience at the ceremony:
● Mladenka Tešić, Programme Manager for Human Rights and Democratisation, the Delegation of the EU to Montenegro
● Sokolj Beganaj, Head of the Department for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Roma and Egyptians, Ministry of Human and Minority Rights
● Gordana Vukčević, Acting Assistant Director, Sector for Preparation and Employment Mediation, Employment Agency of Montenegro
● Barbara Jovanović, Coordinator of the REDI Business Centre for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Serbia
The grant awarding is implemented within the project “EU Support to the REDI Initiative, Phase II: Enhancing Roma Entrepreneurship in the Western Balkans and Turkey.”
