Cultural and educational literary evening held at Europe House

A cultural and educational literary evening titled “Between the North and Europe” was held at Europe House in Bijelo Polje for secondary school students. Those in attendance had the opportunity to enjoy students’ recitations and take part in a discussion with retired literature teacher Biljana Obradović.

The event organiser at Europe House in Bijelo Polje, Vasilija Obradović, stated in an interview with Radio Bijelo Polje that by hosting this literary evening, Europe House aims to position itself as a space open to writers and poets from Bijelo Polje.

“Bijelo Polje is well known for the Ratković Poetry Evenings, as well as for being a town that has long maintained a tradition of organising recitation festivals and public speaking events. Talented secondary school students, our fellow citizens, had the opportunity to enjoy works performed by students of the Secondary Vocational School. Through interactive dialogue, we also saw just how many people in our community are engaged in writing. Through this event, Europe House has become an open space for poets and writers in Bijelo Polje. The aim is to create and work together on the relationship between the north of Montenegro and Europe, but also to explore whether there are differences in writing — and whether, despite speaking different languages, our emotions are the same, or whether it is precisely those differences that bring us closer together,” Obradović said.
